Multigenerational Multiplex
A modern multiplex that brings generations together with private suites and a shared space for connection.
Coming Together
This building’s central concept centres on integrating accessible units on the ground floor with family-oriented units on the upper floor to foster intergenerational mingling and mutual support. As family structures evolve and communal support becomes increasingly valuable, the design aims to create a connected and supportive environment.
The Spaces In-between
The building emphasizes connections—both to the outdoors and among residents. It offers a variety of small communal and private outdoor spaces that encourage spontaneous interactions and provide places to relax and socialize beyond the home.
Shared Backyard
The design includes seating areas at the front, planters along the path to the back, decks overlooking the rear yard, and a shared backyard featuring a rain garden. All units have direct access to these shared spaces, with upper units connected by a wide, welcoming staircase leading down.
Light-Filled Family Loft
The upper-floor units are three-bedroom family homes with layouts that incorporate lofts and visual connections between rooms, fostering a sense of connectedness across the spacious interior. The addition of an upper-level courtyard allows for windows on multiple sides, bringing abundant natural light into the spaces.
Connected Accessibility
The two ground-floor units are fully accessible, featuring wide spaces for wheelchair maneuverability, a garage large enough for accessible vehicle entry, and a gradual slope to the main entrance. The living rooms open directly onto a level backyard, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
